Crispy, savory Voodoo Egg Rolls filled with a delightful blend of spicy and savory flavors, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • Egg roll wrappers
  • Ground pork or chicken
  • Green onions
  • Carrots, finely shredded
  • Red bell pepper, diced
  • Garlic, minced
  • Soy sauce
  • Hot sauce (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground pork or chicken and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  2. Once browned, add garlic, green onions, carrots, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir and cook until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Mix in soy sauce and hot sauce (if using) until everything is well coated.
  4. Remove from heat and let the filling cool for a few minutes.
  5. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface and place a spoonful of filling in the center. Fold the sides over and roll tightly.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pot or skillet to about 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop the rolls in, frying until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

To achieve a perfect crispy texture, ensure your oil is hot enough before frying. Avoid crowding the pan for even frying.
