Delicious cupcakes with a fun, spooky twist, featuring a rich chocolate base and a gooey red filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of raspberry or strawberry jam (for the “blood” filling)
  • Frosting (any type, preferably red or black for spooky effect)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. Fill cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Let cupcakes cool completely before filling.
  6. Using an apple corer or knife, remove a small portion from the center of each cupcake.
  7. Fill each hole with the raspberry or strawberry jam.
  8. Frost the tops of the cupcakes with your chosen frosting, covering the filling.

Notes

Make sure not to overmix the batter for light and fluffy cupcakes. Let the cupcakes cool completely before filling to prevent the filling from melting.
