  • 6 cups sliced, peeled apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract until evenly coated. Spread them in an even layer in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
