Delightful individual servings of fresh strawberries, fluffy whipped cream, and buttery cake, perfect for summer gatherings or picnics.

Ingredients

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Sugar
  • Shortcake or sponge cake
  • Whipped cream
  • Optional: vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Start by washing the fresh strawberries. Remove the green tops and slice them into quarters.
  2. In a bowl, sprinkle sugar over the sliced strawberries and let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to release their juices.
  3. While the strawberries are macerating, prepare your shortcake or sponge cake. Cut it into small cubes.
  4. In serving cups, layer the cubed cake at the bottom.
  5. Add a generous layer of the macerated strawberries on top of the cake.
  6. Spoon whipped cream over the strawberries, making it as high as you like!
  7. Repeat the layers until the cups are filled, and finish with a dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best texture, assemble the cups just before serving. Store components separately in the fridge if you have leftovers.
