Sloppy Joes are a classic dish combining ground beef, tomatoes, and seasonings served on a bun, perfect for weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup of ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns

Instructions

  1. Add the ground beef and chopped onion to a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and brown sugar. Mix well.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Toast the burger buns until golden brown while the filling cooks.
  7. Spoon the filling onto the bottom half of each bun, cover with the top half, and serve hot.

Notes

For a thicker filling, let it simmer longer to deepen the flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
