Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)
  • Butter for grilling

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the Sloppy Joe sauce to the cooked beef and stir until well combined, simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. While the beef is simmering, butter one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean skillet.
  5. Top each slice of bread with a slice of cheese and some of the Sloppy Joe mixture.
  6. Add another slice of cheese on top of the mixture, then cover with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
  7. Grill on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes per side or until golden brown, flipping carefully.

Notes

For best texture, cover skillet while grilling to ensure cheese melts fully.
