Roasted sweet potatoes are simple, warm, and full of flavor, making them a versatile side dish or snack that pairs beautifully with various meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes (about 3 medium)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika or regular paprika
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  2. Wash and scrub sweet potatoes. Peel if you like, or leave skin on.
  3. Cut into 1-inch cubes or 1/2-inch slices for crispier edges.
  4. Toss potatoes with oil, salt, pepper, and paprika in a bowl.
  5. Spread in a single layer on the baking sheet. Don’t crowd the pan.
  6. Roast for 25–35 minutes, flipping once halfway, until edges are brown and centers are tender.
  7. Optional: Drizzle with maple syrup or a squeeze of lemon before serving.

Notes

For extra crisp, finish under the broiler for 1–2 minutes while watching closely. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days and reheat at 400°F (200°C) for best results.
