Delicious and easy-to-make sourdough breadsticks, perfect for snacking or serving alongside your favorite meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter (active and bubbly)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, flour, olive oil, salt, and garlic powder.
  2. If needed, add water little by little until you get a smooth dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until elastic.
  3. Roll the dough into long, thin strips and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Allow the breadsticks to rise for about 30 minutes while you preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for about a week, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-10 minutes.
