A quick and simple dish that combines tender beef with colorful bell peppers and savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper (red, green, or yellow), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated steak to the pan and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add sliced onion and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet, add beef broth, and stir. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. If using, stir in oyster sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Make sure your meat is sliced thinly against the grain for tenderness. Prep ingredients ahead of time for a smoother cooking experience.
