Delightful deep-fried Oreos featuring a rich red velvet batter and creamy cheesecake filling, perfect for parties and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring (liquid or gel)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pack Oreo cookies (Double Stuf recommended)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, red food coloring, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth and thick.
  3. In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a small serving dish and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Dip each Oreo into the red velvet batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Carefully drop the coated Oreos into the hot oil and fry for about 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the warm deep-fried Oreos with the chilled cheesecake dip. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy exterior. Frying in small batches will help ensure even cooking.
