Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool completely.
  5. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer (do not boil). Pour it over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth and glossy.
  6. Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Refrigerate the brownies for at least 1 hour to set the ganache. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra touch, serve with vanilla ice cream or add nuts for added texture.
