Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the frosting:
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan, typically around 9×9 inches.
  2. Mix together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to the mixture, and stir until smooth.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Prepare the frosting by mixing together all frosting ingredients until smooth and creamy. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies, slice, and serve!

Notes

Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
