Crisp, spicy sweet potato fries with a nutty Parmesan finish, perfect as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp cornstarch or arrowroot (optional, for extra crisp)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel (optional) and cut sweet potatoes into even fries, about ¼–½ inch thick.
  3. In a bowl, toss fries with oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and cornstarch if using.
  4. Spread fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment. For air fryer, place fries in the basket in a single layer and cook in batches.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping once halfway, until edges are golden and crisp. Air-fry for 12–16 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately toss with grated Parmesan so it melts slightly and sticks to the fries.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dip.

Notes

To make them dairy-free, swap Parmesan for 2 tbsp nutritional yeast. Adjust spice levels to your preference for lower heat.
