Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese and minced garlic.
  5. Add the milk and mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, optionally garnished with parsley.

Notes

Use cold butter for the best texture. Don’t overmix the dough; it should look slightly lumpy. For extra flavor, consider adding spices like onion powder or paprika.
