A comforting blend of soft bread, seasoned potatoes, and aromatic herbs, perfect for holidays or chilly evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Potatoes, peeled
  • 4 cups Bread (preferably hearty variety), cubed
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks Celery, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 cups Chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon Herbs (such as sage, thyme, and parsley)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the chopped onion and celery until soft.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked potatoes with the sautéed vegetables, bread cubes, broth, and herbs.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, mixing gently to combine.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to crisp the top.

Notes

Don’t overmix to keep the potatoes fluffy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage.
